A male approaching and the female flapped her wings vigorously
When a male blue jewel damselfly flied in, the female really changed to a "flapper" by flapping the wings vigorously. All females reacted the same. Flapper was also a term in 1920's referred to "flapper-girls" easily showing love to men.
