On an elephant preserve in Chiang-mai, Thailand, I watched a man named "Boy" feed this elephant. His grandparents rescued her from a riding camp years ago, and passed her down to him as a sort of heirloom. She loves bananas, he told me, and so does the baby elephant in her belly.
