A man prays in the ruins of a mosque in occupied Syria
This photograph shows a man praying in the ruins of a mosque in the occupied Jawlan (Golan Heights). The mosque was destroyed by the Israeli military during the war in 1967. Despite its ruined state, this man and his wife return to the site to pray, honoring their family and their former home.
