We had been on the film set, waiting, all day. As you do. Hurry up and wait. That's the phrase that's stuck with me from every film and commercial gig I've ever been on set for. Which makes sense. For all of the moving pieces that go into a full scale production, everyone that can be ready needs to be ready so when the time comes...it's not YOU we're waiting for. Unfortunately on this day, a change in location or waiting for prop vehicles or something delayed us just long enough that we could not shoot before the craziest storm clouds ever swept in. But from our little hill in Owatonna, we had the best view in house.
