During a 3-day trip to Florence, Italy, in September, 2018, I had an opportunity to wake up early one morning and go to Piazzale Michelangelo for the panoramic view. I was interested not only in the view itself, but in the people who were present at the square to experience a brilliant dawn. That morning, the clouds were dramatic, and the light was gorgeous. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a monk in his robes. After a few minutes, he moved and was standing at the perfect spot. I took this mobile photo of him as he held a contemplative stance between two iconic Florence buildings.
