16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A Mountain Rose with an ambush predator and its prey.
It is great when you find a tiny flower on the top of one of Colorado’s desert sky-islands. When you get a phoro that catches a bee in the flower it is greater still. When you see the shot and find out that the bee’s already caught, it is the greatest!
