A painting under the hood

I peeked under the hood of an old Chevrolet truck. I noticed the paint peeling. I thought it looked like a painting instead of peeling paint and rust. I grew up in an industrial area in Germany. As a child, I often walked by a steel factory. The machines, vehicles, and buildings dominated the landscape. I tried to find the beauty in the cold, rusty, and mechanical looking world around me. I found, if I looked closer I could see designs created by peeling paint and rust that mimicked those found in nature or in paintings.
