I spent the day at Flamingo Gardens, a botanical garden and animal sanctuary in Davie, Florida. They have many peacocks freely roaming the property. Near the end of the day my wife and I were looking at a giant tortoise when she spotted the peacock standing in a nearby patch of grass. She suggested I take a picture, but I had already taken similar shots and declined. She persisted and I gave in. It turned out to be a very nice shot and after editing it became what I call "Lord of the Wings." I entered this photo in the 2020 Flamingo Gardens Photo Contest and it won first place in the Wildlife Photography category. As a brand new photographer, it was the first time I ever entered a photo into a contest.
