13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
A poignant memory
At the 9-11 memorial in New York, the names of the victims are engraved in the metal handrail. Many family members place miniature flags or flowers but here was an actual photo of the individual remembered, a gesture that I found extremely touching.
