A polar bear at home in the ice
I was driving a small boat through the ice to get back to my ship off Wrangel Island in the Russian Arctic. There are many, many bears there, and I turned to look for a way through the ice and I spotted this bear through the mist watching us pass. It looked perfectly at home.
