A post disaster era

This is a photo taken on my mobile phone of the infamous pripyat city in Ukraine near the Chernobyl reactor. A highly controversial city that has been reduced to nothing but a ghost town upon the disastrous Chernobyl reactor incident that occurred in 1986. This abandoned pool situated in a soviet sports center was once bustling with swimmers and athletes who thought they were leaving their beloved city only momentarily but were surprised to find out that they couldn’t go back, leaving behind all their belongings. The pool still stands still as a reminder of what corruption and mismanagement could look like.
