14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
A quiet moment on the shores of Lake Michigan.
In this photograph, my best friends and I were camping at Wilderness State Park in Northern Michigan after working as summer camp counselors. We awoke on the beach to a foggy morning, and my friend went for a swim. I love the air of mystery and consuming serenity. Makes me wonder what she was thinking about.
