15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A roping steer grazing in the pasture.
This steer is used for practicing roping at my family farm. Here he is in the pasture where they are kept and cared for. We keep around eight head of cattle in this pasture and care for them daily. While I was walking through the cattle to check them, I decided to take my camera and capture the moments of this day.
