On Memorial Day weekend 2021, girl cadets of the Billings (MT) Young Marines organization helped decorate the graves of women war veterans interred in Billings Mountview Cemetery. One grave was of Florence Ames, Army Nurse Corps, WWI. Ames served stateside and in France in WWI. A girl cadet placed an American flag at Ames' grave. The girl stepped back and gave a salute. By pure unplanned happenstance, the shadow of the girl's shadow fell on Ames' headstone.
