A Shia'a woman mourns the dead during the holy month of Muharram in the desert city of Yazd, Iran.

Muslims from all over Iran come to the bigger cities to mourn the death of Imam Hussein, Mohammad's grandson, who was killed by Yazidis. His death lead to the branching of Islam to Shia'a and Sunni muslims. Some people beat themselves, some cry, and some just fall down and pray.
