A Silent Howl

Rocca Calascio. A village at 1400 meters above sea level that tells a story. Whwn wool was like gold, in the Italian Middle Ages, it was a prosperous watchtower, hosting well fed soldiers and shepherds. When technology made it clear that life in the valley was less of a struggle the village was abandoned. In 1957 the last inhabitant left it. In the following decades only Hollywood productions used it, including for great hits like Lady Hawk. Meanwhile wolves - persecuted for centuries, started repopulating the beautiful mountains. And now, the wolves are joined by young people, disillusioned by the city lights, in search of a different life.
