12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
A single frame of spectators watching fireworks from a bridge in Austin, Texas.
There is an annual July 4th fireworks display over Lake Austin hosted by a country club. Spectators watch from the ground and the bridge that passes over the lake. This group of spectators was on the bridge and had pulled their cars over in the shoulder lane. This single frame catures muliple fireworks and one of the spectators videoing the event on his cellphone.
