12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
A small church in the dolomite mountains of Italy.
Just about everywhere you go there's a place for worship. While out hiking, I came across this very small church in the dolomite mountains in Italy. There were just a few short pews and it almost felt like being in a large doll house. While the church looks large in this photo relative to the mountains, it's actually a deceptive camera angle. In reality, the mountains dwarfed the holy place.
