14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
a snowberry clearwing moth ready to feed

June is when the Wild Blue Larkspurs are blooming in North Louisiana. This a good time of year to photograph pollinators so I make a point of visiting my tree farm as much as possible in late May/early June. This was my first real trip since since deciding to come back home to work and a real joy to see the "hummingbird moths" feeding on my tree farm.
