I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a snowy egrets had taken up feasting on sand crabs near the Santa Monica pier, in California. This egret was strolling up and down shore, eating a sand crab here, watching the kids play there, meanwhile letting the waves rush over it's feet. While the egret feasted on sand crabs, kids played in the waves and the ferris wheel loomed over us all. It appears this snowy egret has adapted to city life.
