A spider in our flower box.
While sitting on our porch, we noticed something white in one of the flower boxes. On further investigation we saw it was actually a web with a center strip of a zigzag and fluffy web around the spider in the center of it. The spider is Argiope Aurantia, a garden spider. When the spider feels threatened it vibrates rapidly on the heavy center zigzag and it disappears in the motion. The web breaks down at night and the spider builds it up again every morning. It has been there now for several weeks.
