This photo was taken on the beach in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. I awoke early to capture the starfish who had washed up from the night before. This starfish was particularly larger than other ones we had found that morning. Starfish are often washed up onto shore, and with the tide are washed back into the ocean during the day.
