Roadside stores line many of Senegal’s streets. They sell daily commodities ranging from bottled water and rice to kerosene tanks. They provide a cheaper, and more readily available service than most supermarkets. Food is often sold in recycled bottles, making these roadside stores much ‘greener’ than supermarkets in the United States and Europe.
