After living on the Canadian Prairies for 17 years I returned to my home province of Newfoundland to care for my mother who was ill. Anxious to rediscover the rugged Newfoundland coastline and hidden coastal communities I left before daylight to drive for 25 mins to watch the sun come up in a place I had never visited before. The calm water, red shed and stage, and waiting boat reminded me why I loved my home province so much.
