I grew up in Chicago and this scene immediately reminded me of Georges Seurat's 'A Sunday on La Grande Jatte', a major work held by the Art Institute of Chicago depicting people enjoying the view from an island in the Seine. I love the touches of neon and plastic...truly an American version of that famous scene.
