16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A tiny land snail scooting across the top of a bolete type of mushroom.
The weeks following an unprecedented 17” rainfall in a twelve hour period, produced an abundance of mushrooms in my yard. I set out to get some macros of some of them. To my surprise, I ran across this one with this tiny snail crawling up from the base. Taken mid morning with naturally filtered sunlight.
