This was at the Holocaust Memorial in Moscow, Russia. The entire monument was made from monotone metal, colorless and stark. Strewn on the ground were representations of the everyday items that the victims left behind as they were led to their deaths. This doll was one of the saddest things, reminding us of all the children that never had a chance to grow. Someone had placed a wreath of flowers around her.
