A sea turtle finds freedom in Bali
Learning about vulnerable species and using that knowledge to spread awareness is vital when participating in a sustainable travel project. While traveling in Bali, I visited the Turtle Conservation and Education Center on Serangan Island. This facility rescues injured turtles and is also a nesting facility for three sea turtle species: green, Olive Ridley, and hawksbill. They are endangered due to poaching, pollution, and irresponsible tourism. During my visit, I donated money to adopt a one month old Olive Ridley sea turtle and a volunteer showed me how to release it into the ocean.
