We were on our way to Koprivshtitsa from Sevlievo and decided to take a different route this one time, so we headed through the Troyan Pass in order to cross the Balkan Mountain range. Right at the top of the pass, there is a monument to Bulgarian freedom fighters (against the Ottoman yoke), which is situated on a hilltop lookout. Needless to say, on a clear day, the view from there is magnificent.
