14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A whale breaching in the Kenai Fjords.
On a glacier tour, out of Seward, Alaska, we were treated to a surprise show from this active humpback whale. What an awesome experience to see this whale breach well over 30 times.
