A Whiskey Jack in the wild trusts a hiker enough to feed from his hand
Against a backdrop of melting glacier, a Whiskey Jack takes off after feeding from my hand at Joffre's Park upper lake, British Columbia. The Whiskey Jack is canada's national bird. At the Park, they follow hikers with the hope of getting a feed. Having safe experience feeding from nature lovers, the Whiskey Jack trusts me enough to fly and perch on my hand, where some leftover breakfast cereals are offered. My Samsung Note 4 captured it taking off. The wings are at almost zero velocity as they prepare for upswing. That explains the the standstill quality of the wings in this photograph.
