15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
A white "in memoriam" bike decorated with flowers.

Riverside Drive, where I saw this bike, is twisty and (for cyclists, who often ride it) a bit dangerous. I don't know the story behind the death of the girl who is memorialized here. But I found the bike, ghost-white and adorned with both flowers and a beer can, quite gorgeously troubling. The "park boundary line" sign was a bonus.
