14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A yellow goldfinch sits atop a pink cone flower.
I went down by the river to take photos at A. Y. McDonald park. I turned and just barely noticed the goldfinch sitting on the cone flowers! The goldfinch blended in so well.
