Abandonded fishing boat on the snow covered shore of Hokkaido.

Fishing is a huge industry on the island of Hokkaido. Both the size as well as the organisation of the fishing ports is impressive. Fishing boats are in general standardized and fairly modern. I was exploring the shoreline for wildlife when I came upon this abandonded boat. In my mind it is a symbol of a less developed past of Hokkaido as well as of the great natural forces still effecting the island.
