Abandoned Trail in Acadia National Park
One of my favorite parts of living next to Acadia National Park is discovering old staircases, iron rungs, and even chimneys from closed trails, previous landowners, and projects built before the parks inception. They provide windows into the history of land use, what people used to expect of recreation, and how this landscape was experienced by previous generations.
