Abandonment of the goddess

The Durgo Festival of the Hindu community is over. Jagajjanani bid farewell to Mother Goddess Durga with sandalwood, incense, vermilion, flowers and tears at the feet of the goddess. Along with that, mother will come back to this mortal world again next year - they also said this ardent prayer.The festival started last Friday with Shasthi Puja, wishing for good-welfare against evil forces and lasting peace and harmony among people of all communities. According to traditional beliefs and calendars, Goddess Durga came (arrival) to the mortal world (earth) on a ghot (horse) for the good of the world. The goddess also took leave of Swargalo (gaman) riding on the ghot.Various pujas are performed throughout the day before the desecration of the idol. 9:57 AM Dasami Vihit Puja and Darpan Bisarjan was held. Aarti of devotees and colorful Holi game. Women touching the feet of the goddess with vermilion expressing their heart's desire with utmost devotion. After that, Sadhaba women decorate the goddess with flowers, vermilion and various ornaments for sacrifice. Priests decorate the Goddess with offerings of boiled rice, kachughechu, shapla. After that, the goddess was bid farewell by chanting the last mantra.
