Adelie Penguin
Together with the emperor penguin, the Adelie penguin is endemic to Antarctica. They live on or near sea ice but require ice-free lands for nesting, which represent only about 1 percent of the total area of Antarctica. We came across this tuxedoed beauty taking refuge from a circling leopard seal as it completed its molt.
