This adult emperor penguin walked in front of big piece of ice while I was trying to take a photo of the little penguin chick. It ended being one of my favourite shots from my stay at the emperor penguin colony. I'd never imagined that the ice block, the whiteout conditions, and the blowing snow could create a natural white vignette.
