Afloat
North of the Panamanian coastline lies an archipelago called the San Blas Islands. These Caribbean islets are inhabited by the Kuna, a small indigenous population that underwent many generations of brutal oppression by the Panamanian police force. Thankfully, after much violent rebellion, they now lead calm lives amidst crystal clear waters. They smile & greet before we do (can you spot the “hello” in this photo?) and their generosity is second to none. Moving through the transparent waters of this calm island chain will forever be a special moment in my life.
