After The Rain
Milkweed Seed After The Rain Hiking at the Washington Monument State Park in Middleton, MD, in late September, I got a late start due to an unexpected rainstorm earlier in the day. When I arrived, all of the grasses and leaves were still covered in beautiful rain droplets reflecting the sunlight as the clouds began to clear. One lower field, in particular, caught my attention. It was full of milkweed seed pods that had burst open, and the seeds were everywhere, covered in sparkling droplets.
