23rd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
After the Rain at Lincoln Memorial
Visitors wandered the National Mall during the cherry blossom peak bloom. The reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial was drained for annual spring cleaning, but there was some water in it this day and I wanted to capture the beautiful reflection as people were walking in the basin, which is unusual. When I spotted people biking across I had to capture it.
