After the Rains at I'ao Valley

Incredibly changing weather at I'ao Valley. This beautiful area of lush green plants and the I'ao Needle are a must when visiting Maui. Definitely not the usual coastal beach scenery you'd expect from Hawaii. I'ao Valley has a long history of rainy weather often. On this day, it was raining quite heavily when I arrived with my husband. We had been here before, so we knew if we waited and hoped for sunshine, we just may get it. Honestly we waited about 20 minutes. The blue sky began to appear above the Needle as we took a short walk from the parking lot to the trail. As we reached the top, near the Needle viewing area, we had about 10 minutes of blue sky before the Needle was once again covered in clouds! We didn't even grab the "good" cameras as we didn't want them getting wet. So here's the result of a few cell phone shots just to document the ONE time we saw blue sky over the Needle!
