I was photographing birds at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands next to the Pacific Coast Highway in Huntingdon Beach, California when a large Great Blue Heron flew overhead. The bird landed on the top of a tall agave stalk, which are very Doctor Seuss to me. It just happened to be sunset, so I made silhouettes accentuating the unusual shapes.
