Ahtanum ridge fire

This photo was taken during a huge fire near where I lived in yakima. This fire burned for about a whole day and threatened lots of farmland and evacuated many homes. This was the start of fire season in Washington state. The photo shows the fire when it was starting to wind down and it spans many miles long. I had seen smoke from the hills from my house right before I was about to go to bed, but the smoke was very alarming. We had then decided to go check out the fire and we hadn't realized the fire had been burning for many hours earlier. I almost missed the fire entirely!
