ʻĀkepa o ka ua

The Hawaiʻi ʻākepa is a critically endangered bird only found on the big island of Hawaiʻi. It is dependent on the ʻōhiʻa lehua tree and it uses its crossed bill to open the leaf buds and capture insects.
