Albino Mule Deer

I happened upon a very rare find in the hills of Northern California: an albino mule deer. Based on estimates that one of 30,000 mule deer births result in an albino, there are only about a dozen of these in the entire State of California. Albino mule deer are born with no melanin pigment at all in the fur, nose, or eyes. It was an extraordinary find and I was grateful to have a camera with me at the time.
