Being the mother to three boys in different stages of youth and maturity I see a duality between their innocence and inexperience while navigating the pressures of learning how to become men. No matter what kind of men boys grow up to become - good, bad, powerful, weak, they have one shared experienced: the period of youth. It’s this twilight moment I hope to capture within this series of photographs. In this photograph, Alex a preteen boy holds his football while laying in the grass during this past summer during the COVID pandemic. Since he wasn't able to play with his friends, he spent hours outside on his own tossing the football in the air and playing on his own.
