Álfheimr, or Alfheim, according to Nordic mythology is the tranquil realm of the light elves. I shot this photo on September 25 2015 in Rostock on the Baltic Sea in preparation for the Super lunar eclipse. The moon rose just before sunset, and as the sun went down its farewell rays projected unto the flying birds in the sky with a stunning red. I thought the birds were lucky for being able to perceive the wonders of nature as their home. I think the photo shows how lucky they are with both sun and moon escorting them in their flight. I think I was also lucky to share this special moment with them.
