Alien World

An amazingly designed nest of Vespa affinis or Lesser Banded Hornet. They are one type of social wasp which occasionally lives in close proximity to human habitat. Although most of this species are known to be a nightmare to us because of its poisonous sting, their nesting behaviour around busy course of mankind might be a piece of wonder. Just like this complex structure created by Vespa affinis looks like a piece of art created by an expert artist. Hard working indeed the insect flies far and wide to collect wet mud to develop its little hut. The cluster of colours actually indicates the varieties of mud used to create such an artifice. Nature never ceases to surprise us with masterminds in her school of art.
