21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
All Fenced Out

I was at my old home-site where I was raised. As I was walking around, I saw it and started wondering about it and remembering how it was when I was a child. As a child, I remember it was always in good repair. It was needed to keep livestock and people in or out. I remember climbing over it hundreds of times. Now it stands there keeping nothing in or out.
